Work Experience

Selected Projects

Simulation of Markov Chain Monte Carlo Methods through OpenMP and MPI

For fun and to learn about parallel programming. Markov Chains are sequential by nature, but I wanted to see how they could be parallelized. I used OpenMP and MPI to parallelize the simulation of a Markov Chain Monte Carlo method.

Single-Cell RNA-Seq for Pancreatic Cancer Detection and Therapy

Single-cell transcriptomics lets us look at gene activity in individual cells, which is super useful for understanding how pancreatic cancer starts and grows. It helps spot the disease earlier and can point to more personalized, effective treatment options based on the tumor’s unique makeup.

Disease Propagation Modeling

Basic simulation written in C++ to show the effect vaccinations and herd immunity has on controlling diseases.
